We Did It! New Book: Indispensable
Dear friends,
I pray for God’s blessing and favor over your life in every way. Through your prayers and support, I have completed and published a new book on disability and disability ministries, titled Indispensable: Disability, the Body of Christ, and the Gifts of Belonging.
In this project, I served as both author and editor. I wrote the introduction, the conclusion, and several chapters, and I also had the privilege of working with ministry leaders who contributed chapters that tell the story of their ministries. The book introduces each ministry’s history, vision, and practices as they serve people with disabilities and their families. The contributors also share the personal journeys that shaped their calling and the message they hope the broader Christian community will hear, especially within churches that desire to love faithfully and serve with wisdom.
I began this project in 2023. Because of a difficult health season in 2024, the work slowed down, yet by God’s grace I was able to complete the editing in 2025, and the book is now published. The purpose of this book is simple. It is to glorify our triune God and to bear witness that many faithful servants around the world are quietly laboring to love and serve those who are often overlooked. In many places, people with disabilities and their families receive more consistent support from secular organizations than from churches. I hope this book encourages individuals and families living with disability by showing that there are churches and believers who love God and are committed to genuine belonging. I also hope it strengthens those already serving in disability ministry, including many who are rarely recognized and often remain unseen even within their own congregations.
At the heart of the book is a gospel conviction. Our service must be joined to faithful witness. We are called to speak the gospel and to live the gospel, and disability ministry is one concrete way the church can embody the love of Jesus with integrity. I also hope this book helps readers understand that disability ministry is not limited to those who personally live with disability. It is a calling open to anyone who loves God and is willing to express that love through presence, friendship, and faithful action.
Thank you for standing with me over the years. This book is not simply something I have done. It is a fruit of what we have shared together through prayer, encouragement, and partnership for God’s glory. We did it together! You can find more information through the link.
