All about Pressure Sore

Hello friends,

Dealing with pressure sores among people with disabilities can be likened to a distressing nightmare. It is a truly dreadful and frustrating experience, as the only means of treatment often involves extended periods of bed rest or, in severe cases, surgery followed by lengthy bedridden recoveries. I vividly recall a time when I underwent three months of bed rest, spending twenty hours a day confined to my bed. Fortunately, surgery was not required. Despite receiving valuable guidance from the nurses at Craig Hospital on preventing pressure sores, I regrettably neglected to properly care for my skin, mistakenly believing that I would never be susceptible to such an ailment—much like how I never imagined being confined to a wheelchair.

Therefore, I want to share the most crucial aspects of pressure sore prevention. By educating ourselves about this condition, we can assist others in diligently caring for their skin and bodies, ultimately sparing them from enduring the same harrowing experiences.
