Ministry Update
Dear friends of J.D. Kim Ministries,
We are going through many issues related to the effects of the COVID-19, challenging our health, finance, church participation, and everyday life, in a number of ways. I pray that God may strengthen your body and faith, restore your gratitude, joy, and heart, and move you to pursue his righteousness. I would like to share with you what I have been doing over the past few months.
Updates:
I have been teaching theology courses in English and Korean languages at Denver Seminary since 2020 Fall semester. In this current semester, I am teaching general education course in English which is required for all first semester Denver Seminary students.
I spoke at a Zoom seminar on “Constructing a Mediating Theology: Affirming the Impassibility and Passibility of the Triune God,” hosted by St. Paul Academy of Theology in July 2021.
I signed a book publishing contract with Cascade Books to publish my PhD dissertation. It is part of the series of the Studies in the Doctrine of God. I have been editing my dissertation to a book format according to Cascade Books guideline, which is more complicated than I anticipated.
I have been writing a testimonial book. It is about a young man chasing after his wordily dream, experiencing his dream, body, faith, and life broken so completely that he thought they could never be restored, and following God in his wheelchair with his reconstructed dream for the glory of God.
Plans:
I plan to teach a course on theology of suffering using Beyond Suffering, a wonderful resource published by Joni & Friends. It will be a weekly Zoom class/discussion format. It may start near the end of this year or early next year. I will send you more detail on this course.
I will meet the chaplain of Craig Hospital in two weeks. Please pray that God may open many doors of opportunities to share God’s love with friends at Craig Hospital.
I will be preaching at First Presbyterian Church located in West Virginia via Zoom on October 24, 2021.
Thank you for your prayer and support. Please pray that God may be glorified through J.D. Kim Ministries and send me your prayer requests. Let’s call out to our Redeemer together.
